Trying to figure out what to make? Or maybe just some inspiration before going to the grocery store? This Recipes section chronicles everything that I make on a daily basis. The good, the not-quite-so-good, and the sheer and utter failures! I’m joking, of course. There are very few catastrophic failures that cannot be remedied with the right skill, coaching, and presence of good family, friends, pets, and compost bins! But, nevertheless. Cooking is about perseverance and having fun with it.

I’m constantly in search of a new and interesting recipes to make. Even a brief perusal of this Recipes section will give anyone an idea of how much I cook. After a 10, 11 hour shift at work cooking for other people all day? The first thing that I want to do when I get home, my feet aching on concrete floors and my entire body smelling of other people’s food and my own blood, sweat, and tears? Is not to put my feet up and relax! But to crank up the music in my kitchen, pour myself a glass of sauvignon blanc, and start slow cooking a curry! Or make macaroni and cheese from scratch. Or melting cheese all over every single leftover that I have in my fridge in a big plate of nachos.

It’s really why I started this blog. I wanted some way to chronicle my culinary endeavors and preserve them for future reference. After all, if I don’t write down what I did, why I did it, and take pictures for posterity’s sake? I will absolutely never be able to recreate it again. And, if I’m going to go to that much effort just to be able to recreate something that I made in the middle of the night after cracking into a bottle of wine? Maybe you can find some inspiration in it, too.

Part of the point of cooking is to have a community. And my motto is always, if you have to eat? You might as well eat well! So, I hope that this Recipes section can provide some of that community. And inspiration to cook to anyone beyond myself. My eternal desire is not to fall into complacency or boredom. So, if in any way my eternally expanding Recipes section is of any value to anyone beyond myself? I wish you all of the best luck!

Burrito w/ Spinach & Ricotta Macaroni & Cheese

June 19, 2022

Macaroni and cheese goes surprisingly well with avocado dip in a burrito. It’s, quite frankly, one of my favorite little surprises after macaroni and cheese days. I know that macaroni and cheese in a burrito sounds odd enough! Do you really enjoy leftovers so much […]

The price of cheese has been so high lately that, every time that something’s on sale? I just buy it. I have no idea what I’m going to do with it. There is no plan. There is no rhyme or reason. I’m just buying cheese […]

June 16, 2022

Bean dip is such a fun recipe to make. It’s not necessarily the quickest of recipes. But it is incredibly simple to make. It’s one of those dishes where you can toss everything into a pot and then let it simmer on the stove for […]

I made Quinoa Salad w/ Black Beans, Tomatoes, & Corn the other day. I ended up converting most of the leftovers into Bean Dip w/ Fresh Mozzarella, Quinoa, Black Beans, & Corn. Although, before I did, I made a few Black Beans Burritos. These are […]

I’m not entirely sure what I want to make today. I have a plethora of beans and quinoa in the pantry that I’m trying to use up. So, I’m thinking that I’m going to make some kind of quinoa and black bean concoction. I don’t […]

Curry w/ Bananas, Tomatoes, & Vermicelli

June 9, 2022

The other day I made Curry w/ Multicolored Potatoes, Peanuts, & Sprouts by puréeing whole, unroasted peanuts. And it got me thinking… What else can I purée into curry?? I’m constantly mixing and matching seemingly disparate ingredients that I have on hand. So, making a […]

Burrito w/ Peanut Butter Quinoa & Avocado

June 5, 2022

I turn absolutely anything and everything into burritos! It’s one of my favorite ways to utilize leftovers. Quinoa w/ Sweet Potatoes, Peanut Butter, & Tamari might not be the most conventional of things. But I’m absolutely obsessed with burritos. The peanut butter also pairs incredibly […]

Quinoa w/ Sweet Potatoes, Peanut Butter, & Tamari

June 5, 2022

I didn’t necessarily go into this expecting that I would make Peanut Butter Quinoa. I’ve been having quite the experimental assortment of food lately, though. I’ve made Curry w/ Multicolored Potatoes, Peanuts, & Sprouts, Cheesecake w/ Peanut Butter & Chocolate Ganache, and Curry w/ Bananas, […]

Macaroni & Cheese w/ Cream Cheese & Serranos

I didn’t originally set out to make Cream Cheese Macaroni. Yesterday, I made a Cheese Dip w/ Sour Cream, Cream Cheese, & Serranos. As with many things that I throw together on a whim and don’t entirely know what else to do with, I’ve decided […]

Top 5 Overrated Kitchen Gadgets NOT Worth Buying

Top 5 Overrated Kitchen Gadgets NOT Worth Buying

I hear what you're saying. The holidays are upon us. The overpriced culinary gadgets are finally on sale. But put down that copper pot. Step away from the Vitamix. And rethink that Instant Pot. Your counter space is too precious to spend that much money on things that you'll probably never use! Although, I do have some more useful recommendation, if you still think that you might want an all-purpose cooking contraption or fancy 19th century kitchen. Plus, nothing on this blog is sponsored. I just don't like it when people waste money on cooking fads. NAME ONE PERSON WHO ACTUALLY USES AN AT-HOME PRESSURE COOKER.
