Pasta Salad w/ Salmon & Avocado

August 10, 2023

This is a sort of a Pacific Northwest, Italian, Mediterranean-themed pasta salad. Really, it’s just a hodge-podge of everything that I have in the refrigerator at the moment. The other day I made Barbecue Salmon w/ Lemon & Onion for Salad w/ Salmon, Couscous, & […]

Baked Eggs w/ Mashed Potatoes & Yogurt

Every now and then I get in the mood for potatoes. Plus, I shop at Costco. So, getting a hankering for something that comes in bulk means that it’s a dash to eat all of the potatoes before they start growing spuds! (Which you can […]

Mashed Potatoes w/ Greek Yogurt & Scallion

May 14, 2023

I’ve been craving potatoes lately. So, I picked up a big bunch of potatoes with absolutely no idea what I’m going to do with them! Other than the vague notion that it’s probably going to be mashed potato-based. I’m absolutely obsessed with mashed potatoes. As […]

Mashed Potatoes w/ Green Cauliflower & Cheddar

May 11, 2023

I don’t always have Romanesco broccoli. It’s a cross between broccoli and cauliflower with flavors reminiscent of both. “Romanesco broccoli” is also kind of a misnomer because it’s more closely related to cauliflower than broccoli. So, I’m going to call it a “green cauliflower” in […]

Salsa w/ Roasted Tomatoes & Poblanos

March 16, 2023

Salsa is a great quick and easy recipe to toss together. I like to roast the tomatoes, peppers, garlic, and onions. Although you can easily make this a fresh salsa and skip the roasting process. I like to toss all of mine in an air […]

Moroccan-inspired Christmas 2022

January 15, 2023

Like many people around the holidays, my life has been absolute chaos. The restaurant industry gets incredibly busy around the holidays. No one wants to cook when they’re about to cook for the whole family! So, even if there were no other stressors over the […]

Being in the restaurant industry, the holidays are always incredibly busy. No one wants to cook when they’re about to cook for the whole family! So, I’ve been in quick and easy dish mode lately. My idea of a “simple” meal is anything that takes […]

Power Bars w/ Dates & Chocolate

April 29, 2021

I used to make date power bars all of the time! Just 2 simple ingredients, dates and nuts, plus any kind of flavoring that you want. And voila! A quick and easy power bar without all of the added sugars and fillers of store-bought versions. […]

Top 5 Overrated Kitchen Gadgets NOT Worth Buying

Top 5 Overrated Kitchen Gadgets NOT Worth Buying

I hear what you're saying. The holidays are upon us. The overpriced culinary gadgets are finally on sale. But put down that copper pot. Step away from the Vitamix. And rethink that Instant Pot. Your counter space is too precious to spend that much money on things that you'll probably never use! Although, I do have some more useful recommendation, if you still think that you might want an all-purpose cooking contraption or fancy 19th century kitchen. Plus, nothing on this blog is sponsored. I just don't like it when people waste money on cooking fads. NAME ONE PERSON WHO ACTUALLY USES AN AT-HOME PRESSURE COOKER.
