Trying to figure out what to make? Or maybe just some inspiration before going to the grocery store? This Recipes section chronicles everything that I make on a daily basis. The good, the not-quite-so-good, and the sheer and utter failures! I’m joking, of course. There are very few catastrophic failures that cannot be remedied with the right skill, coaching, and presence of good family, friends, pets, and compost bins! But, nevertheless. Cooking is about perseverance and having fun with it.

I’m constantly in search of a new and interesting recipes to make. Even a brief perusal of this Recipes section will give anyone an idea of how much I cook. After a 10, 11 hour shift at work cooking for other people all day? The first thing that I want to do when I get home, my feet aching on concrete floors and my entire body smelling of other people’s food and my own blood, sweat, and tears? Is not to put my feet up and relax! But to crank up the music in my kitchen, pour myself a glass of sauvignon blanc, and start slow cooking a curry! Or make macaroni and cheese from scratch. Or melting cheese all over every single leftover that I have in my fridge in a big plate of nachos.

It’s really why I started this blog. I wanted some way to chronicle my culinary endeavors and preserve them for future reference. After all, if I don’t write down what I did, why I did it, and take pictures for posterity’s sake? I will absolutely never be able to recreate it again. And, if I’m going to go to that much effort just to be able to recreate something that I made in the middle of the night after cracking into a bottle of wine? Maybe you can find some inspiration in it, too.

Part of the point of cooking is to have a community. And my motto is always, if you have to eat? You might as well eat well! So, I hope that this Recipes section can provide some of that community. And inspiration to cook to anyone beyond myself. My eternal desire is not to fall into complacency or boredom. So, if in any way my eternally expanding Recipes section is of any value to anyone beyond myself? I wish you all of the best luck!

Burrito w/ Salmon & Spinach Quiche

May 20, 2021

Burritos are my go-to. I haven’t always been so obsessed with burritos and there are certainly healthier ways to re-use leftovers! I’m constantly making scrambled eggs or freshly picked lettuce for a quick and easy salad. But there is something that I absolutely adore about […]

Burrito w/ Brussel Sprout & Tomato Curry

May 13, 2021

I am in full on curry fusion mode with this Brussel sprout burrito! I know that curry isn’t exactly the most traditional thing in a burrito. Although anyone who knows me knows that I am not the most traditional person on the planet. I like […]

Curry w/ Brussel Sprouts & Tomato Purée

May 9, 2021

I’ve kind of colloquially been calling this my “Everything That I Have Curry.” I spent quite a bit of time standing in front of my refrigerator going, “What exactly am I going to do with brussel sprouts, tomatoes, carrots, and potatoes…??” I feel like the […]

I’ve been making Salmon Burgers w/ Squid Ink Buns,Tartar Sauce, and Arugula and Salmon Burgers w/ Tartar Sauce and Runny Egg. I have just enough salmon patties left for one more burger! So, I’m bringing back the arugula and adding in some sharp white cheddar […]

Salmon Burgers w/ Squid Ink, Tartar, & Runny Egg

May 6, 2021

I started out this week making Salmon Burgers w/ Tartar Sauce and Arugula. So, what is my next move? Of course adding an egg! And leaving out the arugula because that’s more of an aesthetic choice than anything else. This is more of the sloppy […]

Tartar Sauce w/ Roasted Garlic & Serranos

May 2, 2021

This serrano tartar sauce definitely an American fusion! Modern day tartar sauce rooted in French steak tartare recipes. The French tartare sauce is coarsely chopped beef with a chunky mayonnaise sauce. Named after the Tartar people of Mongolia, who the French considered “rough” at the […]

Black Rolls w/ Squid Ink

May 2, 2021

I have been pretty obsessed with salmon lately. I don’t tend to eat a lot of meat. Predominantly just wild caught seafood. Today, I have been mulling over salmon burgers. The other day I altered my favorite No-Knead Dutch Oven Bread to make rolls. Mostly […]

Top 5 Overrated Kitchen Gadgets NOT Worth Buying

Top 5 Overrated Kitchen Gadgets NOT Worth Buying

I hear what you're saying. The holidays are upon us. The overpriced culinary gadgets are finally on sale. But put down that copper pot. Step away from the Vitamix. And rethink that Instant Pot. Your counter space is too precious to spend that much money on things that you'll probably never use! Although, I do have some more useful recommendation, if you still think that you might want an all-purpose cooking contraption or fancy 19th century kitchen. Plus, nothing on this blog is sponsored. I just don't like it when people waste money on cooking fads. NAME ONE PERSON WHO ACTUALLY USES AN AT-HOME PRESSURE COOKER.
