Trying to figure out what to make? Or maybe just some inspiration before going to the grocery store? This Recipes section chronicles everything that I make on a daily basis. The good, the not-quite-so-good, and the sheer and utter failures! I’m joking, of course. There are very few catastrophic failures that cannot be remedied with the right skill, coaching, and presence of good family, friends, pets, and compost bins! But, nevertheless. Cooking is about perseverance and having fun with it.

I’m constantly in search of a new and interesting recipes to make. Even a brief perusal of this Recipes section will give anyone an idea of how much I cook. After a 10, 11 hour shift at work cooking for other people all day? The first thing that I want to do when I get home, my feet aching on concrete floors and my entire body smelling of other people’s food and my own blood, sweat, and tears? Is not to put my feet up and relax! But to crank up the music in my kitchen, pour myself a glass of sauvignon blanc, and start slow cooking a curry! Or make macaroni and cheese from scratch. Or melting cheese all over every single leftover that I have in my fridge in a big plate of nachos.

It’s really why I started this blog. I wanted some way to chronicle my culinary endeavors and preserve them for future reference. After all, if I don’t write down what I did, why I did it, and take pictures for posterity’s sake? I will absolutely never be able to recreate it again. And, if I’m going to go to that much effort just to be able to recreate something that I made in the middle of the night after cracking into a bottle of wine? Maybe you can find some inspiration in it, too.

Part of the point of cooking is to have a community. And my motto is always, if you have to eat? You might as well eat well! So, I hope that this Recipes section can provide some of that community. And inspiration to cook to anyone beyond myself. My eternal desire is not to fall into complacency or boredom. So, if in any way my eternally expanding Recipes section is of any value to anyone beyond myself? I wish you all of the best luck!

May 12, 2022

I’m always trying to come up with new and interesting ways to use leftovers. Lately I’ve been on an omelette kick. Both because omelettes are absolutely delicious and far easier to make than a lot of people expect. But also because eggs are generally kind […]

Curry w/ Mini Potatoes, Carrots, & Guinness

May 12, 2022

The other day I made Multicolored Potato, Peanut, & Sprout Curry. It was absolutely delicious. Although I am still in the curry mood! I don’t want to replicate what I just made because that would almost be boring. So, I decided today to mix things […]

Omelette w/ Mini Potato Curry & Sprouts

May 8, 2022

The other day I made Curry w/ Multicolored Potatoes, Peanuts, & Sprouts and Florida Avocado Dip w/ Greek Yogurt & Walnuts. I tend to turn all of my leftovers into Burritos. Although I’m also incredibly fond of making omelettes. They only take a few minutes to […]

Nachos w/ Multicolored Potato Curry & Sprouts

May 8, 2022

Spring is in full swing. The tulips are blooming. The weather is perking up. There’s a break in the unending summer rain that feels like it shouldn’t happen because Wisconsin doesn’t have a monsoon season and it really should be reserved for winter when the […]

Burrito w/ Multicolor Potato Curry & Sprouts

May 5, 2022

I will turn anything and everything into a burrito. It’s one of my favorite ways to turn leftovers into something new and interesting. Plus burritos take about 15 minutes to throw together, go with just about any flavor profile, and are a perfect thing to […]

Florida Avocado Dip w/ Greek Yogurt & Walnuts

May 5, 2022

As much as I’d like to say that there is an avocado dip that hails from Florida, Florida avocados are actually a type of avocado. The Hass avocado that we tend to get in grocery stores is not actually the only avocado variety out there. […]

Curry w/ Potatoes, Peanuts, & Sprouts

May 1, 2022

I didn’t necessarily start out intending to make Peanuts Curry today. Really, I’m just attempting to use all of the random things that I randomly keep on stock in my pantry for no apparent reason. Every time that non-perishable goods go on sale, I tend […]

Top 5 Overrated Kitchen Gadgets NOT Worth Buying

Top 5 Overrated Kitchen Gadgets NOT Worth Buying

I hear what you're saying. The holidays are upon us. The overpriced culinary gadgets are finally on sale. But put down that copper pot. Step away from the Vitamix. And rethink that Instant Pot. Your counter space is too precious to spend that much money on things that you'll probably never use! Although, I do have some more useful recommendation, if you still think that you might want an all-purpose cooking contraption or fancy 19th century kitchen. Plus, nothing on this blog is sponsored. I just don't like it when people waste money on cooking fads. NAME ONE PERSON WHO ACTUALLY USES AN AT-HOME PRESSURE COOKER.
