No-knead Dutch Oven Bread w/ Bread Basket

August 29, 2021

I am trying to step up my bread game. Now, I’m by no means a master bread maker. To date, this Dutch Oven bread recipe is the only bread that I have been able to consistently make successfully more than once! But we all know […]

Macaroni & Cheese w/ Greek Yogurt

August 26, 2021

I want to make macaroni and cheese. It’s one of my favorite dishes. It’s also one of the easier roux to make. A lot of roux have a tendency to be delicate and finicky and break. But macaroni and cheese is kind of like the […]

Burrito w/ Pinto Beans, Quinoa, & Runny Egg

August 22, 2021

Ahh leftover season. Turning absolutely everything in my refrigerator into a burrito is one of my favorite thins to do. It’s a quick and easy way to make what you already have on hand into a new and fun dish. Burritos work with so many […]

Burrito w/ Pinto Beans, Vermicelli, & Tofu

August 19, 2021

This week I have made Slow Cooker Pinto Beans w/ Bay Leaves & Lime, Vermicelli Salad w/ Cucumber & Tofu, and Avocado Dip w/ Greek Yogurt, Walnuts, & Lime. Now, these may all seem like disparate dishes from around the globe. After all, pinto beans […]

Potluck Avocado Dip w/ Greek Yogurt & Walnuts

August 15, 2021

I can almost blame Costco on this one. I was walking through the produce section and the avocados were actually ripe. Not bright green and would take days to get there. Not too browned and inevitably turned to sludge on the inside. But perfectly ripe, […]

The Fundamentals of Making Quinoa

August 15, 2021

Quinoa is one of my favorite staple foods. It’s one of those things that you can throw together in an hour and eat throughout the rest of the week. I routinely make it for salads, alongside eggs, in burritos, and with curry. As much as […]

Quinoa w/ Sweet Potatoes, Tomatoes, & Walnuts

August 15, 2021

I’m incredibly fond of making sweet potato quinoa. It’s one of the staples in my culinary world. I almost always have some sitting in my refrigerator to toss into burritos, alongside eggs, or mix into a salad. It’s particularly good with walnuts, though. Which isn’t […]

Slow Cooker Pinto Beans w/ Bay Leaves & Lime

August 12, 2021

I am a big fan of slow cooking beans in the crock pot. There are plenty of ways to make beans. You can soak them overnight and simmer on the stove for hours or attempt your hand at perfectly guessing the water and time ratios […]

BBQ Phyllo Dough Pizza w/ Tomatoes & Mozzarella

August 8, 2021

I made Spinach Pie the other day and have leftover phyllo dough. Phyllo dough comes in much larger quantities than you need for a single dish! So, I always have the debate over what else to do with it. You can freeze it. But really, […]

Burrito w/ Vermicelli Salad, Avocado, & Runny Egg

August 5, 2021

I have leftovers today. I almost always have leftovers, though. My general cooking philosophy is that, if you make one or two big dishes at the beginning of the week, then you don’t have to cook again! This incredibly simplifies the culinary process and means […]

Top 5 Overrated Kitchen Gadgets NOT Worth Buying

Top 5 Overrated Kitchen Gadgets NOT Worth Buying

I hear what you're saying. The holidays are upon us. The overpriced culinary gadgets are finally on sale. But put down that copper pot. Step away from the Vitamix. And rethink that Instant Pot. Your counter space is too precious to spend that much money on things that you'll probably never use! Although, I do have some more useful recommendation, if you still think that you might want an all-purpose cooking contraption or fancy 19th century kitchen. Plus, nothing on this blog is sponsored. I just don't like it when people waste money on cooking fads. NAME ONE PERSON WHO ACTUALLY USES AN AT-HOME PRESSURE COOKER.
