Tzatziki w/ Skyr, Shallots, & Lemons

February 6, 2022

I ordinarily have Greek yogurt on hand. I use it as a substitute for sour cream, as an alternative to milk or cream in pasta sauce, and generally just like the flavor of Greek yogurt. So, I ordinarily have a ton of it just lying […]

Burrito w/ Jarlsberg Rigatoni

February 3, 2022

Anyone who knows me knows that I’ll toss absolutely anything into a burrito. This sometimes includes pasta. Which, I will admit, sounds like kind of an odd idea. But it’s like having macaroni and cheese on the go. My childhood self would have been absolutely […]

Pasta w/ Jarlsberg Cheese & White Wine

February 3, 2022

I am absolutely obsessed with making fondue lately. It’s far simpler to make than most people realize. I think that the only reason that it hasn’t previously been in such high rotation in my daily routine is because I keep thinking that it’s more difficult […]

Fondue w/ Jarlsberg Cheese

February 3, 2022

Jarlsberg is a type of Swiss cheese that originated in Jarlsberg, Norway. I’d say that it’s a bit milder than most Swiss cheeses. But is a great addition to any fondue! Especially if you’re not quite as fond of the more classic bite to to […]

The Fundamentals of Making Fondue

February 1, 2022

If I could live off of cheese alone? I would eat cheese for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. And there is absolutely no better way to eat cheese than fondue! Fondue is actually a fairly easy dish to make. I consider it simpler than a roux […]

Burrito w/ Vermicelli, Walnuts, & Avocado

January 30, 2022

I am a big fan of vermicelli salads. I make these more generically with what I have lying around than following any specific meal. Although plenty of places around the globe commonly use vermicelli in their dishes. It spans from Italian to Thai cuisine with […]

Vermicelli Salad w/ Cucumber, Walnuts, & Avocado

January 30, 2022

Vermicelli salad is one of my favorite things to make in a pinch. I’m currently moving and need food that’s quick and easy to throw together and requires very little equipment! Because most of my kitchen is in boxes. These types of dishes are perfect. […]

Pasta w/ Cream Cheese & Sour Cream

January 23, 2022

It has been almost two weeks since Christmas 2021 and I’m starting to run out of leftovers. This is even despite making Quiche and Macaroni & Cheese for Christmas and then another fondue-inspired Lasagna from the leftover ingredients after the actual leftovers were beginning to […]

Cheese Dip w/ Cheddar & Cream Cheese

January 23, 2022

You know how they say that you should never grocery shop while hungry? Obviously you’ll end up with a lot more “I’m instantly craving THIS” foods than most of us would actually want to consume. But I’ve come across this same problem while cooking today. […]

Lasagna w/ Manchego & Fresh Mozzarella

January 20, 2022

I couldn’t decide whether to make lasagna or fondue for Christmas this year. So, I bought everything for both and then made neither… I did make Quiche w/ Spinach, Ricotta, Pecans & White Wine and Macaroni & Cheese w/ Gruyère & White Wine that were […]

Top 5 Overrated Kitchen Gadgets NOT Worth Buying

Top 5 Overrated Kitchen Gadgets NOT Worth Buying

I hear what you're saying. The holidays are upon us. The overpriced culinary gadgets are finally on sale. But put down that copper pot. Step away from the Vitamix. And rethink that Instant Pot. Your counter space is too precious to spend that much money on things that you'll probably never use! Although, I do have some more useful recommendation, if you still think that you might want an all-purpose cooking contraption or fancy 19th century kitchen. Plus, nothing on this blog is sponsored. I just don't like it when people waste money on cooking fads. NAME ONE PERSON WHO ACTUALLY USES AN AT-HOME PRESSURE COOKER.
