Fall is for gourds! While we do live in a day and age where you can get squash all year round, it is a fall harvest and I very much enjoy the seasonal harvest. And it truly isn’t the changing of the season without something […]

Every time I make a big dish, I tend to make enough to last through the rest of the week! This makes it easier to eat homemade food. When you don’t actually have to cook every single day and you get to utilize big meals […]

Macaroni and Cheese w/ Spinach & Squash Salsa

September 13, 2020

We all have late night junk food cravings or off day comfort meals. I’m not a huge fan of chocolates or sweets. But my absolute weakness is pasta and cheese! It has next-to-know nutritional value and I do not care because I absolutely adore it […]

Burritos w/ Homemade Tortillas, Black Beans, & Rice

September 10, 2020

Homemade burritos are fun, but somehow I almost never end up making them! I make a lot of food almost entirely from scratch. When I make lasagna? I’ll make the noodles from semolina, make the sauce, and blend the cheese together. (Note to self, learn […]

Burrito w/ Squash, Brown Rice, & Black Beans

September 3, 2020

I have been gardening all summer. Growing different types of tomatoes. Attempting my hand at lettuce. A little bit of broccoli. Some potatoes. But what I’m most excited about this year is the peppers! Bell peppers, banana peppers, serrano peppers, chili peppers, habanero peppers, ghost […]

Enchiladas w/ Rice, Black Beans, & Red Chilis

August 30, 2020

I am perpetually making homemade enchiladas. I like burritos a lot, but enchiladas are the real deal! For this recipe, I made everything from scratch. From the black beans and rice to the corn tortillas and enchilada sauce. To top things off, I even grew […]

Brown Rice w/ Butternut Squash & Habaneros

August 30, 2020

This squash brown rice is absolutely the best rice that I have ever cooked! I am perpetually trying to make brown rice soft and tender. There is very little nutritional value in white rice. So, I try not to make it. Brown rice can be […]

Top 5 Overrated Kitchen Gadgets NOT Worth Buying

I hear what you're saying. The holidays are upon us. The overpriced culinary gadgets are finally on sale. But put down that copper pot. Step away from the Vitamix. And rethink that Instant Pot. Your counter space is too precious to spend that much money on things that you'll probably never use! Although, I do have some more useful recommendation, if you still think that you might want an all-purpose cooking contraption or fancy 19th century kitchen. Plus, nothing on this blog is sponsored. I just don't like it when people waste money on cooking fads. NAME ONE PERSON WHO ACTUALLY USES AN AT-HOME PRESSURE COOKER.
