The Fundamentals of Air Fryer Cheese Curds

September 15, 2021

I’m incredibly fond of cheese curds. They’re quintessentially Wisconsin and Costco sells them in multiple pounds around here! But they’re not strictly reserved to the Dairy State. For one thing, California has had superior cheese producing numbers for decades. And I grew up in Oregon […]

Salad w/ Quinoa & Queso Fresco Peppers

September 12, 2021

I have anaheims ripening in the garden. I’m quite fond of anaheims. I more commonly stuff queso fresco and/or quinoa in larger peppers. But I prefer the flavor of anaheims! Obviously enough to have grown quite a few in my porch garden. So, that is […]

Scrambled Eggs w/ Queso Fresco Peppers

September 12, 2021

I do not want to go grocery shopping. I have already been to Costco and picked up Greek yogurt, chicken for the dogs, and new pillows. Which have absolutely nothing to do with food! Although nothing that I have picked up is a meal in […]

Hummus w/ White Beans & Roasted Tomatoes

September 9, 2021

I absolutely love to make hummus. In the deep, dark depths of my rural Wisconsin grocery stores, though, I can only find 16 ounce bags of chickpeas! Which drives me nuts. Because you can only make about one batch of hummus with that. I’m used […]

Burrito w/ Radish Bulbs, Greens, & Scrambled Eggs

September 5, 2021

I have come to the devastating conclusion that there are no leftovers in my refrigerator. I oftentimes make burritos out of whatever leftovers I have to consume. From quiche to curry to spinach pie? Absolutely everything that I have eventually ends up wrapped in a […]

Burrito w/ Quinoa, Salmon, & Avocado Dip

September 5, 2021

I turn absolutely everything into a burrito. It’s one of my favorite ways to utilize leftovers. I have only found a few things that don’t work spectacularly wrapped in a lightly toasted tortilla with a dash of hot sauce! And this is truly a fantastic […]

Macaroni & Cheese w/ Greek Yogurt & Salmon

September 2, 2021

I bought an absolutely massive fillet of salmon today. I went to Costco because I needed gas and I had to make the trip worth it somehow. So, an absolute fortune in salmon later because… Costco! I had to figure out what to do. I’ve […]

The Fundamentals of Barbecue Salmon

September 1, 2021

I acquired a barbecue the other day. Which is really just code word for someone left a perfectly functional grill on the side of the road and I am from Portland, where picking up orphaned furniture is practically a past time. So now, of course, […]

No-knead Dutch Oven Bread w/ Bread Basket

August 29, 2021

I am trying to step up my bread game. Now, I’m by no means a master bread maker. To date, this Dutch Oven bread recipe is the only bread that I have been able to consistently make successfully more than once! But we all know […]

Macaroni & Cheese w/ Greek Yogurt

August 26, 2021

I want to make macaroni and cheese. It’s one of my favorite dishes. It’s also one of the easier roux to make. A lot of roux have a tendency to be delicate and finicky and break. But macaroni and cheese is kind of like the […]

Top 5 Overrated Kitchen Gadgets NOT Worth Buying

Top 5 Overrated Kitchen Gadgets NOT Worth Buying

I hear what you're saying. The holidays are upon us. The overpriced culinary gadgets are finally on sale. But put down that copper pot. Step away from the Vitamix. And rethink that Instant Pot. Your counter space is too precious to spend that much money on things that you'll probably never use! Although, I do have some more useful recommendation, if you still think that you might want an all-purpose cooking contraption or fancy 19th century kitchen. Plus, nothing on this blog is sponsored. I just don't like it when people waste money on cooking fads. NAME ONE PERSON WHO ACTUALLY USES AN AT-HOME PRESSURE COOKER.
