Trying to figure out what to make? Or maybe just some inspiration before going to the grocery store? This Recipes section chronicles everything that I make on a daily basis. The good, the not-quite-so-good, and the sheer and utter failures! I’m joking, of course. There are very few catastrophic failures that cannot be remedied with the right skill, coaching, and presence of good family, friends, pets, and compost bins! But, nevertheless. Cooking is about perseverance and having fun with it.

I’m constantly in search of a new and interesting recipes to make. Even a brief perusal of this Recipes section will give anyone an idea of how much I cook. After a 10, 11 hour shift at work cooking for other people all day? The first thing that I want to do when I get home, my feet aching on concrete floors and my entire body smelling of other people’s food and my own blood, sweat, and tears? Is not to put my feet up and relax! But to crank up the music in my kitchen, pour myself a glass of sauvignon blanc, and start slow cooking a curry! Or make macaroni and cheese from scratch. Or melting cheese all over every single leftover that I have in my fridge in a big plate of nachos.

It’s really why I started this blog. I wanted some way to chronicle my culinary endeavors and preserve them for future reference. After all, if I don’t write down what I did, why I did it, and take pictures for posterity’s sake? I will absolutely never be able to recreate it again. And, if I’m going to go to that much effort just to be able to recreate something that I made in the middle of the night after cracking into a bottle of wine? Maybe you can find some inspiration in it, too.

Part of the point of cooking is to have a community. And my motto is always, if you have to eat? You might as well eat well! So, I hope that this Recipes section can provide some of that community. And inspiration to cook to anyone beyond myself. My eternal desire is not to fall into complacency or boredom. So, if in any way my eternally expanding Recipes section is of any value to anyone beyond myself? I wish you all of the best luck!

Fajitas w/ Black Beans, Zucchini, & Bell Peppers

July 7, 2022

I didn’t start out the day making Zucchini Fajitas. I saw someone with margarita glasses in their cart at Costco the other day. Now, I’m always on the lookup for cocktail glasses that I don’t have. I’m not the biggest cocktail person on the planet. […]

Slow Cooker Black Beans w/ Tomatoes

July 3, 2022

Oftentimes I go grocery shopping without quite knowing what I’m getting. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this because it usually leads to additional grocery shopping for produce that you didn’t know that you didn’t have yet. But I do quite enjoy wandering into the fruits and […]

Nachos w/ Fennel Quinoa & Rattlesnake Cheddar

June 30, 2022

I didn’t know what “rattlesnake cheddar” was when I bought it. All that I knew was that it looked spicy and was on sale. With the price of cheese these days, I pretty much buy anything and everything with a good markdown. So, I picked […]

Burrito w/ Spinach, Tomato, & Fennel Quinoa

June 30, 2022

I recently made an absolutely delicious Quinoa & Fennel Salad. I was looking for something bright and refreshing after the hoards of seafood that I’ve been eating lately and before the Ravioli that I’m inevitably going to make this weekend. For now, I want something […]

Quinoa w/ Tomatoes, Jalapeños, & Fennel

June 30, 2022

Every now and then I pick up something fun from the grocery store with absolutely no idea what I’m going to do with it. Today, that item is fennel. Well, it’s actually a plethora of things that I picked up from the not one, not […]

Scrambled Eggs w/ Quinoa, Pear, & Avocado

June 26, 2022

Over the last couple of days I’ve been making Ahi Tuna Steak Salad and Salmon Salad w/ Quinoa & Pears. I still have a bit of the quinoa and avocado medley in the refrigerator. Currently I reside in the middle of the country where, for […]

Potluck Avocado Dip w/ Greek Yogurt & Sunflower Seeds

June 26, 2022

I’ve been going through my pantry trying to figure out how to use all of the things that I’ve just been carrying around for far too long! Today I’ve come across an entire jar of sunflower seeds. The problem with sunflower seeds is that I’m […]

Salad w/ Tamari Quinoa, Pears, & Salmon

June 23, 2022

Seafood was on sale yesterday. I started out making an Ahi Tuna Steak Salad. Although I only had so much tuna! So, today I decided to recreate the same kind of salad dish with salmon. Salmon is ordinarily my go-to. I’m from the West coast […]

Salad w/ Tamari Quinoa, Pears, & Ahi Tuna Steaks

June 23, 2022

Ahi tuna steaks were on sale at my local grocery store. They’re not necessarily my go-to seafood. Although I’m not exactly great at turning down a good deal! The seafood section is in the back of the grocery store, which meant that I then had […]

Quinoa w/ Jalapeños, Shallots, & Ginger

June 23, 2022

Quinoa is one of my go-tos. It’s hands down one of my favorite things to make. In the winter, I eat a lot of lentils and sweet potatoes. In the warmer months, though? I crave something a little bit brighter and oftentimes opt for quinoa. […]

Top 5 Overrated Kitchen Gadgets NOT Worth Buying

Top 5 Overrated Kitchen Gadgets NOT Worth Buying

I hear what you're saying. The holidays are upon us. The overpriced culinary gadgets are finally on sale. But put down that copper pot. Step away from the Vitamix. And rethink that Instant Pot. Your counter space is too precious to spend that much money on things that you'll probably never use! Although, I do have some more useful recommendation, if you still think that you might want an all-purpose cooking contraption or fancy 19th century kitchen. Plus, nothing on this blog is sponsored. I just don't like it when people waste money on cooking fads. NAME ONE PERSON WHO ACTUALLY USES AN AT-HOME PRESSURE COOKER.
