Category: Breakfast

This category encompasses both breakfast and brunch.

I’m the kind of person who likes to wake up in the morning and get the ball rolling. I clean. I work out. I go grocery shopping. I get hungry!

I also like to have a lazy Sunday brunch. I work in the restaurant industry. So, I tend to work weekends and am out late at night on Friday and Saturday nights sweating over a hot industrial oven.

I tend to get all of my errands done for the week before my Sunday off. That makes Sundays just my days to do whatever I want. Whether that’s getting a new dresser or sleeping in and sipping mimosas over eggs Benedict.

Quiche w/ Blue Cheese & Sweet Potatoes

November 5, 2020

If you know me, you know that I put sweet potatoes in everything! They’re sweet and hearty. They balance the flavor of bitter or earthy foods. And they’re available year-round. One of my guilty pleasures is blue cheese, though. It gets a bad reputation. But […]

Fried Eggs w/ Squash, Brown Rice, & Avocados

October 25, 2020

I am in an egg mood this week. Oftentimes I’m busy and don’t have the time or the energy for breakfast. Which is a shame because I do love it! And it is good to start out the day with good food, instead of starving […]

Omelette w/ Squash, Brown Rice, & Avocados

October 22, 2020

A lot of the time I make brown rice specifically for burritos. They’re one of my staple easy to make on the run foods. But this morning I had some time off and wanted to make something a little bit more special. A lot of […]

The Fundamentals of How to Scramble Eggs

October 15, 2020

Learning how to scramble eggs is a staple of cooking. They’re easy to forget about, though! Scrambled eggs are so standard a food, that it can be easy for them to get overshadowed by other things. I would almost never order scrambled eggs at a […]

Burrito w/ Fried Tofu & Cinnamon Squash Lentils

October 1, 2020

This is lentil and tofu burrito is a perfect leftover meal. I have a tendency to make a batch of tofu and then toss it into everything throughout the week. Since I already had Cinnamon Roasted Squash w/ Habanero Lentils, it only seemed fitting to […]

Scrambled Eggs w/ Roasted Squash Lentils

September 24, 2020

I put eggs in absolutely everything. From lentils and rice to burritos and curries. I am a firm believer that nothing can’t be improved with an egg! They’re a hearty and filling way to start the day. Particularly when you’re on the go and need […]

Every time I make a big dish, I tend to make enough to last through the rest of the week! This makes it easier to eat homemade food. When you don’t actually have to cook every single day and you get to utilize big meals […]

Scrambled Eggs w/ Sweet Potatoes & Tomatoes

August 16, 2020

I am a big fan of breakfast. It’s the start to the day and quite honestly, sometimes my biggest meal! As much as I like breakfast, though, a lot of it is carb-heavy, butter-drenched, mimosa-filled not for everyday meals! So, as much as I like […]

Scrambled Eggs w/ Sweet Potato Quinoa & Lettuce

August 9, 2020

When I think of salads, I tend to think smaller dinner salads drowning in ranch dressing. They’re the starter course that you have to work through before you get to the meal portion of the evening. But that’s not the kind of salad that I […]

Scrambled Eggs w/ Bengali Curry

July 26, 2020

Curry and eggs have a longstanding tradition of going hand-in-hand. It may sound counter-intuitive to scramble eggs alongside a vegan curry. Especially since a lot of egg substitutes are made from tofu! However, a lot of curries call for an egg in them as the […]

Top 5 Overrated Kitchen Gadgets NOT Worth Buying

Top 5 Overrated Kitchen Gadgets NOT Worth Buying

I hear what you're saying. The holidays are upon us. The overpriced culinary gadgets are finally on sale. But put down that copper pot. Step away from the Vitamix. And rethink that Instant Pot. Your counter space is too precious to spend that much money on things that you'll probably never use! Although, I do have some more useful recommendation, if you still think that you might want an all-purpose cooking contraption or fancy 19th century kitchen. Plus, nothing on this blog is sponsored. I just don't like it when people waste money on cooking fads. NAME ONE PERSON WHO ACTUALLY USES AN AT-HOME PRESSURE COOKER.
