Easter is a fun holiday to cook for because play is inherently part of it. It’s the time of year for decorating eggs and playing with paint. It’s messy. You get your fingers dirty. You get to make cakes that look like dirt and flower patches and deviled eggs that look like bunny rabbits.
Easter is also one of those holidays that slips my mind. After the hustle and bustle of the food-centric wintry holidays, I tend to forget that there is anything in between Christmas and the 4th of July. So, every time April sneaks around, I find myself scrambling to put something together! Preferably egg themed…
Although part of the fun of Easter is the whimsy! And the ramshackle nature of going with the flow. I tend to find myself making a quick and easy Easter brunch or snacking throughout the day in a more family-style setup. It doesn’t have the pressure or bells and whistles of Thanksgiving or Christmas. Making it the perfect holiday to lackadaisically some eggs.
