Surprise Easter 2023
I didn’t necessarily go in knowing what I was going to do or make for Easter. Easter tends to sneak up on me and be a bit of a surprise. It’s always fun to look around at what you have and toss something together. Luckily, […]
Looking for a bit of holiday inspiration? Or tips and tricks to get everything in and out of the oven at the same time? Holiday recipes in the 21st century are oftentimes a mix of the classics past down through generations. As well as fun and new concoctions. Either way, the basics often remain the same! From what to make, whether anyone or everyone will eat the same thing, and how to get everything put together in as timely a manor as possible? Most of us can relate on at least some level during the holidays.
In the modern era, holidays are also less tied to their historical context and more to the idea of a modern family. They’re an excuse to come together with friends, family, or just yourself to take some time out of our busy lives, cherish the moment, and bond over a good meal. Plus, how many excuses do you have to make themed meals and deviled eggs that look like bunnies?? Some things only come around once a year. And I’m particularly fond of celebrating the unique eccentricities and culinary escapades of the season! The most important thing is to make it your own and celebrate the little things in life.
The articles in this section contain both recipes that I’ve created for particular occasions. As well as practical tips and tricks for meal planning and preparation. For more individualized holiday recipes and articles, there are subsections for the following holidays:
Saint Patrick’s Day | Easter | Halloween | Thanksgiving | Christmas

The holidays are always a busy time for work. Thanksgiving might only be the beginning of the holiday feasts. Although no one wants to cook before they’re about to cook for the whole family. That compounded with pre-black Friday and holiday shopping? Means that everyone […]
It’s my birthday and all that I want for breakfast, lunch, and dinner is cheesecake! I’m obsessed with cheesecake. I’ve been making it for decades. It’s kind of a birthday tradition at this point. I just moved into a new place, though, and am not […]
When thinking about what to make for Easter, I usually find myself pondering some recipe with salmon and eggs. Almost always deviled eggs. Last year I ended up with Terrine w/ Salmon, Spinach & Chèvre and Mayonnaise-Free Deviled Eggs w/ Salmon & Dill. It was […]
I am ordinarily a big fan of the holiday season. I start counting down the days until Christmas in June and keep my very real Christmas tree up until spring! Really, I just enjoy any excuse to cover absolutely everything in lights, bring oversized trees […]
This holiday season I’ve been absolutely not feeling the festive mood. It’s been an exhausting couple of weeks and all that I really want to do is cuddle up at home and do nothing at all! But I’m persisting and putting in the effort to […]
We are officially into the second round of Coronavirus pandemic holidays! Last Easter feels like a distant memory when the pandemic was just in its early stages in the United States. Back when we weren’t really sure what to expect or whether even to bother […]
